Jarod Martinez, a rising star of regional basketball who plays for the Langosteros team of the Caribbean Coast, is in grave condition after receiving a gunshot wound to the face on Thursday night.
According to reports from local authorities, the incident occurred in the community of Halouver when a relative of Jarod was accidentally handling a firearm. The young athlete received a gunshot to the head and was rushed to a medical center, where he is fighting for his life with the bullet lodged in his skull.

Additionally, the local Basketball Commission has also expressed its support for the player and another community member, Shelton Pondler, known as “Morgie,” who requires urgent surgery for a brain tumor.
