Isidro Salinas, affectionately known as “SandFish”, dedicated much of his life to the taxi driving profession in Bluefields, where he gained widespread popularity. After being diagnosed with diabetes, Isidro stopped working, and his health deteriorated in recent years.
Despite his struggles, Isidro’s spirit never wavered. With his trademark charisma and good humor, he continued to shower unconditional love on his twin daughters, who were always his greatest source of joy and strength.
SandFish was a vocal critic of the issues plaguing our community, particularly in the transportation sector. During times of democracy and citizen participation, he frequently intervened to defend taxi drivers and was often heard debating on news programs with our colleagues Ileana Lacayo and Sergio León (may they rest in peace).
Our heartfelt condolences go out to Isidro’s family.
