Plane with 100 Nicaraguan deportees arrives in Managua from the US

This morning, a Global X airline plane landed at the Augusto C. Sandino International Airport in Managua with approximately 100 Nicaraguans deported from Louisiana, United States.

The Global X airline has a contract with the US Immigration Department to carry out these transfers, carrying out flights to Nicaragua with a frequency of approximately once every two weeks.

Despite the constant arrival of deported compatriots, the regime of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo does not offer official information on the situation of the returnees. The profile of the deported people, the conditions in which they arrive in the country and the support, if any, they receive upon return are unknown.

According to witnesses, among the passengers who got off the plane, only one person was seen being escorted with handcuffs, without additional details being provided on the reasons for his detention.

The lack of transparency by the Nicaraguan government regarding these deportation flights has generated concern among the families of returnees and the general population, who are demanding greater clarity regarding the process and the status of deported Nicaraguans.
