Victim in critical condition as family calls it a “nightmare”

Jason Telémaco Ingram Oporta, a former soccer player from Bluefields, admitted responsibility for a traffic accident that occurred at kilometer 13.5 on the Masaya highway.
According to the case, he was driving under the influence, with a blood alcohol level of 1.08 grams, and ran a red light, causing the collision.
Two people were injured; one remains in critical condition, suffering paralysis on the left side of the body, according to relatives, who describe the situation as a “nightmare.”
“We have to be attentive all day, we have no way to get around, and we are suffering because of a recklessness that could have been avoided,” said one of the affected family members.
During the hearing, prosecutors requested a three-year prison sentence and suspension of his driver’s license, while the defense asked for a sentence of one year and six months.
The judge will determine the final sentence.
